St. John's Baptist Church Youth Retreat at Wolf Mountain Camp

To: Make an Impact Ministries Attn: Christopher and Shaleun Harold aka Kontagiouz Soundz St. John Youth were very anxious and excited about KSP coming to Wolf Mountain camp site to talk about Hip Hop. Most of our youth at St. John listen to hip hop and rap music however, most of them are not aware of the meaning of some words, slang, and “dress code” -Chris broke it down in simple terms by using a powerpoint presentation with plenty of pictures and history of Hip Hop music, when it began, why is began, and where it is going. There was a deep sense of respect and amazement from the youth that night! Chris and his wife are a great team and should be commended on the work they are doing for the Lord. May God continue to bless them with a vision for our youth, young adults, and adults.

On Friday, July 23, 2004, we had the privilege of having Kontagiouz Soundz perform at our Friday Night Fellowship. From past experience from youth fellowship to big main youth events, it’s hard to find a Christian hip hop group that ministers and relates to the youth with the same hip hop influence that in the mainstream. When I say mainstream, I am stating that the youth gives them the same respect and attention that they give worldly hip-hop artistes. I most admit that my youth group at times can be as cold as ice toward Christ entertainment. When Kontagiouz first dropped the beat on my youth, they attempted to present that cold look. Never the less, Chris and his crew took my youth to a place I have not seen in awhile. The youth were up dancing, praising and receiving free Kontagiouz CD’s because their praise was off the chain. In my 21 years in youth ministry and 10 of those years as staff youth pastor, I have brought in groups as: Gospel Gangsters, Prime Minster, Unity Clan, Trinity 5:7, K2S, A1Swift and many local groups. I share this to say: Kontagiouz Sounds ministers on a level that will be respected not only by the youth but staff as well. I highly recommend Kontagious Sounds for any youth ministry event.

Kontagious Soundz, music you can cruse with or worship a flavor all of its own. Church of the Harvest was beyond impressed with the performance. Kontagious Soundz message through the music and the scripture that brings application to every day life. Through the show at our carnival there is youth groups that play there cd every service all the way down in Napa, CA. and through our Church on the Street Ministry people who have never listened to Christian music are now begging for a cd and singing through the week shake the devil off. PATRICITY'S REVIEW For all of you who did not attend you missed it! Yes! You missed a spectacular show! Yes they did it! Who did it? KONTAGIOUZ LIVE at Patricity's Poetry Corner at the 24 Hr. California Diner at Bradshaw & Micron formerly Denny' s off Highway 50. I have poetry, dance and singers, all entertainers with a positive message are invited to perform and it is open to the public every 4th Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. and on Saturday May 22nd, 2004 I had the best! It was a Music Extravaganza and extra-ordinare is how I would describe it. The features in the Music Extravaganza were solo hip hop gospel artist "Ambassador", gospel rock group "Spiritual Octane" and none other than fabulous "KONTAGIOUZ" yes Trill had the notes and the energy, he has that name honestly. It is no wonder why the name is "KONTAGIOUZ" either because the lyrics and energy will jump on you and infest you and make you clap your hands, stomp your feet and holler back when "Trill" says to the crowd, "When i say Jesus you say Christ!"and the crowd holler back "CHRIST! CHRIST!" you just can't help yourself. And we ain't even going to tell you how I almost shook my hairpiece off when Trill, Tyche & Jayce got the crowd all hyped up with "Shake the Devil off.!" You better ask somebody? Or better yet take it from someone who knows, me Patricity because I can tell you they did it and left you just wanting more. Whew!! The group represented a abundance of energy, harmony and praise to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and my hats off to this young couple representing that you can have harmony and understanding as a young couple( this alone is a witness of Christ that I don't even think they recognizes praises God all within itself) Harmony is always the best way that we manifest the Lord & Savior we believe in. This couple has blessed my soul to see two people working so closely together! ( it's not something that you get to view to often these days) and I want to recognize them for the love and harmony they represent, they truly compliment each other as a couple and as a group, the three of them that performed (Trill, Tyche and Jayce) did lift Our Father and lifted the hearts, minds and spirits of all those that attended. That too me defines communication because what is communication if we cannot penetrate and break through, break through the worries of everyday life, pain, complications we all face? We all need a uplifting and they did that, yes they did! Kontagious is defined in the dictionary as capable of being transmitted, tending to spread from person to person and the group did that they spread the word from one person to the other with group participation, they know how to get the crowd in a uproar in a positive way. Kontagious was brought back by demand for this show May 22, 2004. The beauty of this event is that it brought both Black and White believers together as ONE (as it should be as we are but one body made up of many members and we should not have division but we all know we do). This Music Extravaganza was just so spirit -filled, and there was no division just TOTAL HARMONY as the spiritual rock goup "Spiritual Octane" and solo hip hop gospel artist "Ambassador" and 'KONTAGIOUZ" all did a finale that was just too good to describe, you had to be there for the EXPERIENCE! They did a number entitled "WAR" and it was MAGNIFICENT!! IT WAS AWESOME!! IT WAS SPIRIT-FILLED!! and it touched my heart in a special way, the experience will be with me this entire life-time. in simple words it was "KONTAGIOUZ!!" Thank you Trill & the entire group for such a outstanding performance. Thanks for a blessed experience and memory and for those of you who missed them, don't miss them anymore! Thank you so much for bringing so much love to my venue!!
